 Jones & Smith

by Griff Rhys Jones

Welcome to what I hope will be a complete and utter downer.

One of the country's most versatile comedians and broadcasters, Griff Rhys Jones’ career has seen him presenting, acting and writing. He is perhaps most famous for his work with Mel Smith, appearing in films and on stage together, and in their hit show Smith & Jones on television together for nearly twenty years.

Prompted by Mel's death, Griff will be sharing a series of anecdotes and stories, reflecting on their lengthy career together.

As a television presenter, Griff's work includes Three Men in a Boat (with Rory McGrath and Dara O'Briain), A Great Welsh AdventureSlow Train Through Africa, Mountains and Rivers. As an actor, he has won two Olivier Awards for Best Comedy Performance in Charley's Aunt and An Absolute Turkey. He has also starred as Harpagon in The Miser, Toad in The Wind in the Willows and Fagin in Oliver!.
